Pool Closing Instructions

Let’s get ready for winter!

Here’s everything you need to know about our pool closing process!

Before we arrive, please complete the following checklist!

  • Balance chemicals

  • Turn heater off

  • Clear pool of any leaves/debris/dirt

  • Give system a good backwash

  • Turn off all skimmer valves. DO NOT turn off main drain

  • Turn power off to system, move multiport handle in to waste function, turn power back on & let pool drain 2-3 inches below your round jets (returns on the side of pool water).

    • Water must be below the plumbing lines (the jets).

    • When pool is in waste mode, keep an eye on the pool or set an alarm.

**You do not want to accidentally drain your whole pool, as this could cause permanent damage to your pool.**

    • Once the water is below the returns, you can power off the system, move multiport handle back into filter mode and turn power off.

    • Once the system is turned back on, you will see water coming out of your round jet and splashing into the water, this is normal.

  • Add a winterization kit or shock, algaecide & metal magnet to pool water. This is a great time to brush the pool to mix everything around. Doing this step will lessen the chances of a dirty pool come spring.

  • Please have pool gates unlocked, and winter cover out near pool or on driveway on day of closing.  Set out any winter plugs and other pieces you may have.

What to expect from our crew!

The closing crew will plug all plugs, drain water out of pool lines & fill with anti-freeze. All water will be drained from filter. Equipment will be winterized, baskets will be removed, and your winter cover will be installed.
